📘 Creating a Custom CV

📖 What is a Custom CV?

A Custom CV is a completely customizable resume created using predefined company templates. Unlike the Branded CV (which only adds the logo to the original CV), the Custom CV allows you to:

  • Choose a layout from the company templates
  • Modify every single section of the resume
  • Enable/disable content as desired
  • Create a document tailored for specific opportunities

🎯 Objective

Create a personalized resume using company templates, with full control over content and layout, ready to be sent to clients.

This functionality is fundamental because:

Total customization - Every section is editable and can be enabled/disabled

Professional templates - Uniform and quality company layouts

In-app editing - No external download/upload required

Flexibility - Three data population modes (starting from Manatal fields, from the original CV, or from scratch)


📋 PART 1: Creating Custom CV

1. Search for the candidate

  • Access the search bar
  • Enter the candidate's name
  • Click on the desired user from the results

2. Once in the candidate's profile, access the Resume section

3. Start Custom CV creation

  • In the menu to the right of the original Resume, select "Custom Resume"
  • In the new screen click on "New Custom Resume"

4. Enter an identifying name for the Custom CV

  • Example: "First Name Last Name - KP"

5. Choose one of the available templates provided by the company

6. Choose the data source

  • The system offers three options to populate the Custom CV data:

    • Option A: Autopopolate from Manatal Summary

      • Uses structured fields from the Manatal database
      • Ideal when: you imported a candidate from LinkedIn but don't have the original CV
    • Option B: Autopopolate from Original Resume ⭐ (Recommended)
      • Takes data from the uploaded original resume
      • Ideal when: you want to create a custom CV and have the candidate's original resume
    • Option C: Blank - Manual Import
      • Start from scratch, manually filling each field
      • Ideal when: you want to create a completely new CV

7. Start generation

  • Select the desired data source (e.g. "Autopopolate from Original Resume")
  • Click on "Create"
  • Wait a few seconds for processing

📋 PART 2: Editing and Customization

Screen Layout

Once the Custom CV is generated, the screen is divided into two parts:

  • Right: Preview of the custom CV
  • Left: Editable fields of the custom CV

8. Modify sections

Every section of the resume is completely customizable:

To modify a section:

  1. Identify the desired section in the left panel
  2. Modify the field content
  3. Enable or disable the section via toggle/checkbox
  4. The preview on the right updates automatically for most fields, if it doesn't update automatically, it means the modified field has a "confirm/continue" button that must be pressed to proceed to preview visualization.

Example: Adding Candidate Description

  • Select the "Candidate Description" section
  • Insert the descriptive text
  • Click on "Confirm" (or "Continue")
  • The description appears in the preview

9. Customize as desired

  • Enable/Disable sections: Show only relevant information
  • Modify content: Adapt text to specific needs
  • All modifications happen within manatal, without needing external software

10. Save the Custom CV

  • Once modifications are complete
  • Click the "Save" button in the top right
  • The Custom CV is stored in the candidate's profile

11. Export to PDF

  • Once saved you can click the "Export PDF" button
  • The resume is downloaded in PDF format
  • The document is ready to be sent to the client
